    GPS - Activate device

    Hello,

i found a demo to get the current gps location (http://inthehand.com/files/folders/free/entry4911.aspx). If i click the menu-button i get he message that the gps device is stopped. it's only started if tomtom runs in background.

how can i start the gps device without starting tomtom in background?

    thanks hibbert.de

    sorry for my bad english

Normally the GPS intermediate driver will attempt to connect to the GPS receiver when you open a connection to the GPS API - through the Gps class. How long the device takes to start up depends on the type of device and connection - commonly an external Bluetooth receiver. Check also that the settings in the GPS control panel that the port indicated is the correct one for your GPS device. On some devices it has been observed that the API reports back that the device is stopped, however the gps location change events are still raised.
